So I dont want to override anyone else’s ideas and if we want to just find out our characters work in combat we can just go in straight for the fun of it. Either one works for me.

Just to explain what I said IC a bit:

Xiandao is obscenely rich, and mercenaries are one of the things he brings with him for when he needs to conduct aggressive negotiations. It was actually fairly common for merchant ships to have large crews to fight off pirates. Sea-Faring Hero Style was a terrestrial martial art in 2E, so I figure a group of mortals that have dots in the skill of it but no charms would make an appropriately flavorful mercenary company.

I was thinking of creating an Evocation for Wood Dragon Claws, but no matter how often I read the section on Evocations I just can’t parse it. Is there a guide to creating them out there I can refer to?

Also, I wanted to doublecheck that I have the right amount of xp recorded – I have 15 normal and 2 solar xp. Are those correct, or if not what are our totals?

Hey guys! I’m back in town after having to go to Arkansas to deal with my ex and trying to get more custody of my kids. So by my record you guys should have 20 XP and 5 solar total not counting an extra 5XP for Sunday. That should put you all at 25XP and 5 solar total. Also everyone take a free ability point of your choice since I haven’t posted anything yet.

I can help you on the evocations. Basically they are just charms that you make for a weapon to allow you to do things that would or wouldn’t normally be in theme. There aren’t a whole lot of guidelines at this time other than what you can find on the forums.

I can also work with you Exthalion if you want to create a version of sea faring for 3rd. Just let me know.

I hope to get everything up to date by the end of today.

I’ll take a 3rd dot of Awareness. And thanks for making Evocations clearer for me – I’d like her Wood Dragon’s Claw to let her pin an opponent. Sort of a literal “rooted to the spot” thing?

And out of curiosity, since the neomah are treated as having a Minor intimacy of Terrified Awe toward me, does that mean I can draw extra sorcerous motes from them? Or is that only for characters that have an actual intimacy on their sheet? Need to know before I write up my Shaping action.

I’m all about the rule of awesome. Since drawing extra power from your opponents fear of you sounds pretty awesome I’m going to say go for it. I think for the Claw we could work out a evocation that lets you pierce a target with a huge thorn pinning them in place. Or one that grabs their legs with roots and vines. Same thing mechanically minus any actual damage. What do you think?

I plan on moving the fight forward as soon as I have all the join battle rolls. If I don’t get them in the next day or so we will just wing it and add the characters as they join.

That sounds good! I’m thinking that mechanically it’s treated as a grapple that she can maintain while taking other actions, rather than having to keep hold of the target?

So for ease of the combat shall we just allow everyone to act who will get to before the first enemy. That way we can keep it moving without having to wait to see what happens. Its at least a thought.

Hey Ex,

Sorry for the slowness. We can work it a couple of ways, if you want to stay in the West game I can reintroduce you in a bit. I have an idea on how to do that. I honestly don’t mind either way. I am a bit concerned with how often you can post and if you will be able to play Exthalion they way you want to in the West game because he relies on his vast fortune. I want you to be able to play the way you want to and not make it feel too easy to buy out of situations. I hope that makes more sense than it does when I read it back to myself lol. That said if you want to give it a shot, then we can make it work.

For anyone interested in another game at the same time, I have a big end game for the West one that involves a couple of other big Locales in Creation. I’m running them as side games to simplify logistics and railroad everyone where I need them to go for the plot. This should help make the world feel bigger and also make it feel like there are other events affecting each other. Right now I have one other solo game being run in the east and if that player is ok with it I can add more to it.

The North game will be centered on Whitewall and some major events happening there that will affect the other areas. Please let me know which one or both you want to do. If anyone else wants to jump in another let me know too.

Just to keep the story moving. If starfall says no or the demon says it doesnt have the essence ill destroy it.

On the Northern game im intrested in it. I am currently playing a night caste in one game and a zenith combatant in this one. Id kinda like to try a twilight Occultist using anima ability to bind spirits. My backstory and personalty so far are kinda weak but i have some idea of where to go with it.

I’m not enforcing training times. Headcannon warning: In my opinion the Exalts are known for their burst of insight and quickness at learning new skills and getting stronger. The primordial war probably didn’t provide lots of opportunities to have downtime to train really hard. So that said: Just come up with a description of how you master your new skill or charm or packed on added muscle, etc and go with that.

Are we supposed to be including the +3 on our Join Combat rolls? I just posted how many successes I rolled.

In the future we should roll join battle every time someone starts attempting a combat action. Even ambushes roll join battle and if the ambusher doesnt win join battle the attack is no longer an ambush just a suprise. I dont have my book at the moment (instead of dv 0. The defender has dv-2)

I see no reason to retcon now just food for future thought.
